Senior Software Developer

About the Role
As part of our Industrial Platform Group, you will join a sophisticated collective of software engineers responsible for designing, developing, and evolving CONNECT—the core industrial intelligence platform at AVEVA.
CONNECT powers a broad array of digital solutions used globally, touching diverse industries across our suite of offerings. In this Senior Software Developer role, you’ll:
- Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams to define system architecture.
- Develop scalable solutions for next-generation digital platforms.
- Contribute directly to the success of our customers' digital transformation efforts, fostering lasting value for our ecosystem.
This position is ideal for young or experienced developers looking to develop their cloud expertise or transition into cloud-focused software engineering. While prior experience in cloud development is advantageous, we welcome talent eager to evolve in this domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other software engineers to design and build core features of CONNECT.
- Optimise platform scalability, reliability, and performance to align with future industry demands.
- Debug and resolve complex technical challenges across platform services and interfaces.
- Monitor and analyse platform metrics to guarantee peak performance and availability.
- Engage in continuous improvements such as code reviews, development testing, and agile planning as part of an iterative and collaborative team.

Essential Requirements
- A completed STEM degree or equivalent credential.
- At least 3 years of hands-on software development experience.
- Deep proficiency in object-oriented software design, with a focus on maintainability, extensibility, testability, and reusability.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Development experience in C#/.NET or comparable platforms.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with proven ability to work closely within technical teams.
Desired Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Azure services, including:
- Cosmos DB
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Service Bus
- Event Hub
- Application Insights
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and distributed systems principles.
- Web development experience with Angular or a related framework.

Hybrid Working
