Senior Software Developer (Leicester) – Hybrid
We're looking for a Senior Software Developer to join a talented team building cloud-based solutions in a financial services environment. You’ll have room to grow, take on significant responsibility, and help raise the standard for those around you.
What You’ll Do
- Work with our business analysts and product owners to refine and deliver the product backlog
- Design and document software solutions that meet desired functional and non-functional requirements
- Implement and maintain code following best practices
- Implement and support test automation wherever practical
- Assist our internal end users with production defects—reviewing, debugging, and resolving issues in a timely manner
- Participate in daily stand-ups and retrospectives, aiming for continuous improvement in team delivery
- Mentor junior members of the team and take a leadership role in certain activities
What We’re Looking For
Core Requirements
- Proficiency in software development using C#, .NET/.NET Framework
- Experience with the software development lifecycle in a commercial environment, including:
- Requirements analysis
- Estimation
- Technical software design
- Implementation
- Unit/integration/system testing
- Deployment and maintenance
- Experience with development tools:
- IDEs
- Version control (e.g., Git)
- Test automation frameworks
- Continuous integration (CI) tools
- Task and backlog management systems
- Familiarity with best practices, including:
- Design patterns
- SOLID principles
- Agile and Extreme Programming (XP) methodologies
- Ability to plan daily development activities and mentor team members

Technical Skills & Prefers
- Experience with unit/integration/UI test automation frameworks like:
- NUnit
- xUnit
- Playwright
- Experience with UI design using:
- JavaScript
- jQuery
- Bootstrap/Tailwind
- Knowledge of:
- TSQL
- C# ORMs (Entity Framework, Dapper)
- Ability to design and implement RESTful Web APIs
- Experience with cloud technologies (preferably Azure)
- Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with AI assistance tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Perplexity)
- Knowledge of GitHub Actions/Azure Pipelines or similar CI/CD tools
- Familiarity with the finance, wealth management, or pensions industry
