What You Will Do
The Senior Software Developer at STERIS is a self-starter and technical explorer, bridging mission-critical legacy systems with modern web/software solutions. You’ll manage the directive over evolution: sustaining on-premise infrastructure while introducing scalable innovation.

Core Responsibilities
- Design, Build & Maintain business-critical software across:
- Enterprise .NET/legacy systems (C#/.NET, WPF, WCF, SQL)
- Modern web applications (ASP.NET Core, React)
- Develop & Refactor, ensuring new systems integrate smoothly while optimising outdated workflows.
- Collaborate on React (TypeScript-preferred) frontends for end users.
- Architect RESTful APIs and data integrations that secure trust and streamline care processes.
- Advocate for quality via secure, performant, scalable, and self-documenting design.
- Lead stakeholders (engineers, QA, DevOps, UX) in technical decisions, code reviews, and introducing best practices.
- Escalate complexity by identifying and mitigating technical debt & operational risk.
- Deliver with Agile agility, thriving in a cross-functional team environment.
Required Experience
Professional Track Record
- 5+ years in full-stack software development, with a mix of production-grade legacy tech stacks and modern cloud-ready architectures.
- Proven high-impact delivery: able to work autonomously and independently solve triaged challenges.

Core Technical Skills
✚ C#/.NET mastery:
- Depth in ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Core, and modern .NET ✚ Windows Forms & Service Communications:
- Maintenance, refactoring, and modernisation of WPF/WCF where impactful ✚ Database & Integration:
- Advanced SQL Server expertise (data modelling, performance, scalability) ✚ API Oriented Design:
- Writing and consuming RESTful endpoints, including modern authentication models ✚ React-based UIs:
- Collaborative deliverables for booking, symptom tracking, or other health platforms
✚ Engineering Execution:
- Version control (Git)
- Automated testing (unit, integration, API)
- CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Applies DevSecOps principles for safe cloud transitions
✚ Soft Engineering Leverage
- Agile energy—scrum/kanban frameworks; retrospective-driven improvement
Preferred Experience
SEDGE Level Advantage
- Familiarity with automated deployment (e.g., Kubernetes) or cloud-native (.NET/.Azure) environments
- ISO or FHIR experience (additional advantage for health IT and interoperability scenarios)
- A portfolio of mentorship or ** repo leadership** (Gitub orgs, internal tooling, open-source contributions)
