Senior Software Developer (C++)

Senior Software Developer (C++)

Location: United Kingdom, Whiteley, Hampshire About the Role

About Us

DTC | A Codan Company is a technology company based in Whiteley, Hampshire. We specialise in the research and development of wireless and critical RF communication systems.

Our Engineers work at the edge of what is scientifically possible, developing secure, high-reliability systems used in real-world, mission-critical environments. Our technology is deployed nationwide by UK law enforcement and internationally across military, defence and government markets, enabling secure video, data, and communications across complex networked environments.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer within our Applications Team, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex desktop and mobile applications that underpin our product portfolio across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work across the full product lifecycle, shaping requirements, defining scalable architectures, and delivering secure, high-integrity software used in operational environments.
  • Combine enhancement of established, nationally deployed platforms with the development of new products and capabilities, particularly within emerging military applications.
  • Develop in modern C++ across multiple platforms while collaborating with embedded, hardware, and RF engineers.
  • Contribute to a culture of technical excellence through code reviews, mentoring, and continuous improvement.
  • This is a hands-on, engineering-led role, based primarily on-site in Whiteley, working closely with the Embedded and Hardware Team. While informal flexibility exists, regular on-site presence is essential.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
