Senior Software Developer in Test – Java & Azure
Duration: 1 year Contract
Workload: Full time hours
Setup: Day rate inside IR35
Location: London, UK, 3 days on site required.
Our client is looking for a Senior Software Developer in Test to drive quality across cloud-native, data-driven platforms through advanced automation, API testing, and scalable test frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and reusable testing utilities.
- Create and execute robust test cases for REST API validation, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Validate large-scale data pipelines running on Databricks, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Champion TDD and BDD practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, and DevOps teams to embed quality gates within GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Support cloud-native testing strategies across Azure-based platforms.
- Troubleshoot, optimise, and maintain automated testing solutions for enterprise systems.

Must-Have Skills:
- Strong Java development experience focused on test automation.
- Proven expertise with TDD/BDD methodologies and frameworks such as JUnit or Cucumber.
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs.
- Understanding of Front-to-Back (F2B) testing approaches.
- Experience integrating automated testing within GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
