What you'll be doing

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join us to help build and support the systems that underpin regulatory reporting and risk compliance, working with Datastage and Oracle-based technologies.

This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute to both change delivery and live service, while continuing to develop your engineering capability, problem-solving skills, and understanding of complex banking data.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Write clean, efficient and well-documented code in line with engineering standards, while supporting change delivery across Datastage and Oracle-based systems.
  • Work closely with senior engineers to develop a clear understanding of requirements and help resolve issues.
  • Contribute to the stability and performance of live applications through ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and debugging.
  • Monitor systems in production, identify bugs, and implement fixes.
  • Play an active role in incident management, including root cause analysis, to improve resilience and security.
  • Take part in code reviews and team discussions to strengthen quality and share knowledge.
  • Apply test automation and debugging tools to support performance and reliability.
  • Use Agile ways of working to plan, prioritise and deliver effectively.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders, keeping them informed on progress, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
