Role: Senior Software Engineer
Company: Financial Services startup
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: up to £90k + Equity
We're partnering with an ambitious AI startup building production-grade agentic AI systems for financial services. As one of the early engineering hires, you'll design and build AI-powered applications that solve complex, real-world problems for enterprise customers.
This is a highly technical role where you'll spend the majority of your time writing production Python code, integrating LLMs, building APIs, and deploying scalable AI solutions while working closely with customers and the product team.
What you'll be building
- Design and develop production AI applications using Python and modern LLM frameworks
- Build robust APIs, backend services, and integrations with enterprise platforms
- Develop agentic workflows and AI-powered automation for financial services use cases
- Own projects from architecture through deployment and ongoing iteration
- Work directly with customers to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
- Collaborate closely with Product and AI Engineering to shape the platform and roadmap
- Optimise performance, reliability, observability, and deployment of AI systems in production

What they're looking for
- Strong Software Engineering background with excellent Python skills
- Experience building and deploying production backend applications and APIs
- Experience integrating external services and working with cloud infrastructure
- Comfortable owning technical projects end-to-end, from design to production
- Experience with AI/LLM applications, orchestration frameworks, or agentic systems is highly desirable
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work directly with customers on technical challenges
- Experience within Financial Services or FinTech is advantageous
