Why are we recruiting?

Are you an experienced Software Engineer looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced, cloud-first, product-driven engineering environment? Do you enjoy building high-quality software, solving complex technical problems, and helping other engineers around you grow?

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be hands-on within a cross-functional Agile/DevOps team, designing, building, and supporting scalable customer and business-facing systems. You will play a key role in delivering secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions, while contributing to technical direction, engineering best practice, and continuous improvement across the team.

You will work closely with fellow engineers, Product Owners, Delivery Managers, and Architecture teams to help translate business and architectural requirements into well-engineered technical solutions. You will also be part of a wider engineering community, contributing to shared standards, modern ways of working, and the adoption of new technologies including AI-assisted software development.

This position will be based working remotely with the occasional visit fortnightly/monthly to our bright and modern offices in Welwyn Garden City.

Key responsibilities

Software Engineering & Solution Delivery

  • Hands-On Engineering: Design, build, test, deploy, and support high-quality software solutions in a fast-paced product engineering team.
  • Scalable Design: Develop maintainable, scalable, and resilient technical solutions that support business growth and meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Engineering Excellence: Write clean, well-structured code that adheres to SOLID principles, Clean Architecture, agreed coding standards, and solution architecture.
  • Quality First: Ensure quality is considered from the outset of development through automated testing, peer review, and strong engineering discipline.
  • Secure by Design: Demonstrate experience designing and developing features with security, privacy, and reliability in mind from day one.
  • Systems Reliability: Help ensure that applications, systems, and services are performant, stable, observable, and supportable in production.
  • Production Readiness: Contribute to safe and reliable releases, ensuring deployments are well-tested and do not compromise stability, availability, or security.

AI Integration & Engineering Efficiency

  • AI-Assisted Development: Use AI coding assistants and automation tools responsibly to improve development efficiency, code quality, test coverage, and documentation.
  • Engineering Productivity: Explore practical opportunities to use AI-enabled tooling to accelerate routine engineering tasks such as refactoring, analysis, test generation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Responsible AI Adoption: Follow established guidance around verification, security, licensing, and data protection when using generative AI tools in engineering workflows.
  • AI-Aware Delivery: Contribute to the design or integration of AI-enabled product capabilities where relevant, with appropriate guardrails and technical oversight.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
