About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team based in our Brighton office, with a strong background in building scalable, high-quality, and high-performance software solutions. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining software critical to our flagship access control products
  • Mentoring and coaching team members

Key Responsibilities

  • Design solutions for new features and bug fixes according to project requirements and specifications
  • Provide leadership for:
    • Project requirements
    • Planning
    • Reporting
  • Collaborate with:
    • The Principal Engineer
    • Apps and Cloud teams
  • Ensure the technical integrity of:
    • User interfaces
    • Back-end API services
    • Mobile apps
    • Cloud services
    • Using test-driven design methodologies and best practices
  • Identify problems or risks early to avoid or mitigate them
  • Provide input and suggestions to other team members’ designs or take part in decision-making processes
  • Actively review your own and others’ code to uphold good coding practices
  • Contribute to overall architecture and technology decisions for our software products

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required; proven industry experience may be accepted as a substitute
  • Solid experience in back-end development, especially:
    • C# .NET
    • Front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, Angular, or React (advantageous)
  • Strong experience with .NET Web API
  • Solid experience working with SQL Server
  • Knowledge or experience with Azure cloud services would be advantageous but isn’t essential
  • Ability to work effectively as an excellent team player, enjoying collaboration with other developers
