I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer

You'll be working on applications for some of our largest customers, while using cutting edge technologies and frameworks.

An ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a Senior position within a team, be hands on and enthusiastic with their code, and be willing to mentor developers within the team. You will have strong self-motivation and the ability to solve tough problems independently.

What will you be working on?

As a company we specialise in using ML within the Electrical Distribution Industry to predict outages and equipment failure. The work has huge real world implications, helping prevent anything from large scale outages to mitigating wildfires.

Within the Development team you will be responsible for working on our core platform, “Cascadence” which uses machine learning and physics based algorithms to generate predictions. Cascadence provides data scientists and engineering analysts the ability to understand and investigate anomalies on a live distribution network.

You’ll be working alongside a talented team of front end developers, backend developers and AWS engineers, using a tech stack which incorporates React, Python and AWS. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and creating new features on this platform, whilst keeping scalability, efficiency and code quality at the forefront of your mind. Alongside this you’ll be helping junior developers grow, sharing best practises and offering support and guidance.
