Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer – BSS/OSS Systems (Hybrid)

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll design, build, and maintain cutting-edge systems in the BSS/OSS space, ensuring scalability, security, and robust performance. You’ll shape the technical vision, offer mentorship to the team, and serve as a key architect in large-scale platform initiatives—while driving best practices in development, testing, and continuous delivery.

Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Leading technical design, development, code reviews, and testing for end-to-end solutions
  • Guiding and coaching engineers on technologies, standards, and best practices
  • Enhancing CI/CD pipelines and engineering processes
  • Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing to project delivery & continuous improvement efforts
  • Collaborating with Product, Operations, and stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver impactful solutions
  • Ensuring systems meet cost controls, security, and asset management standards
  • Creating technical documentation to improve maintainability and business operations
  • Championing quality engineering through automation, testing, and innovation in tools/technologies

What You’ll Need

We’re looking for candidates with experience in some—but not necessarily all—of the following:

  • Strong experience with Java (Java 8+) and mastery of object-oriented programming (OOP)
  • RESTful API design, with an emphasis on scalability and maintainability
  • SQL and database design expertise, including performance optimisation
  • Familiarity with version control (preferably Git) in collaborative environments
  • Knowledge of automated testing (e.g., JUnit, Cucumber, Selenium) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working in Agile teams and using Jira or similar tools
  • (Desirable) Experience with AWS and cloud-native development
  • (Desirable) Understanding of containerisation (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
