📍 Manchester (Hybrid) 💷 Up to £75,000 plus package
A leading global technology and consulting organisation is hiring Senior Software Engineers to join a major Software & Platform Engineering team in Manchester, building modern cloud-native applications for large-scale private and public sector clients.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role for someone who can:
- Build production-quality software
- Contribute to technical decisions
- Help shape the delivery of scalable applications across cloud, serverless, containerised, and CI/CD-led environments
You’ll be joining a large engineering community, working on products and platforms that can impact millions of users across sectors including:
- Public sector
- Blue-chip enterprise
- High-growth scale-ups
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building traditional and serverless applications and services
- Designing and integrating applications with:
- Data stores
- Message buses
- Wider cloud architecture
- Deploying applications using:
- Containers
- Cloud services
- CI/CD pipelines
- Supporting production observability, maintainability, security, and performance
- Writing clean, secure, well-tested software
- Using unit, integration, and contract testing
- Shaping and delivering small to medium-sized engineering workstreams
- Supporting technical decision-making
- Mentoring less experienced engineers

Tech You’ll Use
- Languages: Java, TypeScript, Python, Go, C#, or modern frontend frameworks
- Cloud Platforms:
- AWS (preferred)
- Azure / GCP (also useful)
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, AWS CDK, Pulumi, or similar
- CI/CD Tools: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI, ArgoCD
- Other Tools: Containers, serverless, CI/CD, testing, and observability tooling

What You’ll Bring
- Strong commercial software engineering experience
- Hands-on coding ability in:
- Modern backend
- Frontend
- Full-stack environments
- Cloud-native development experience
- Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Strong debugging and complex problem-solving skills
- Understanding of:
- Secure coding
- Performance
- Production-quality delivery
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in client-facing agile teams
