Tech: node.js, TypeScript, MCP
Client: Fintech Payments Platform
Compensation: base + bonus + unlimited holiday + remote working + home setup
Model: Remote
Role Overview:
We're hiring on behalf of a client for a Senior Software Engineer to help design and build a suite of servers using an emerging AI protocol standard to create the secure, governed layer that lets AI agents interact safely with a payments platform. Working closely alongside a principal level engineer and the wider team, you'll build core components: transport and session handling, authentication, the tools and interaction surfaces AI agents rely on, and the operational backbone that keeps it all safe at scale. This is a genuinely new and evolving space, with real ownership from day one.
What You'll Do:
- Design and build components of a suite of servers exposing platform data and capabilities to AI agents and developer tooling
- Implement transport and session handling for stateful, long running AI agent interactions
- Build authentication and authorization into services, integrating OAuth based flows via an internal identity provider.
- Contribute to the edge and gateway layer for token validation and routing
- Build quality in across the software lifecycle using modern testing and CI/CD practices

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
