Senior Java Engineer
Up to £90,000 + benefits
London - Hybrid 2 days per week onsite
We're working with an innovative technology business looking for a Senior Java Engineer to help build and support enterprise-scale customer communication platforms. You'll join a collaborative team with a strong DevOps culture, taking ownership from design through to production.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale customer communication solutions.
- Develop robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Work within a microservices architecture to deliver scalable and resilient applications.
- Support cloud-based infrastructure, leveraging Azure and Infrastructure as Code principles.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and software delivery best practices.
- Maintain system reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
- Produce clear technical documentation and support knowledge sharing across engineering teams.

Desirable Skills
- Experience with Kotlin, Scala, or other JVM-based languages.
- Exposure to TypeScript or Node.js.
- Understanding of distributed systems and solution design.
- Python scripting experience.
- Knowledge of AI-powered applications, LLMs, or intelligent automation.
- Experience working with Kubernetes and containerised environments.
What you'll need:
- 6+ years' Java development experience
- Strong Spring Boot & Microservices expertise
- Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) experience
- Azure, AWS or GCP exposure
- CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code knowledge
- SQL & NoSQL database experience
- Passion for building scalable, high-quality solutions
- Bonus points for: Kubernetes, TypeScript, Node.js, Python or AI/LLM experience.
