Senior Software Engineer | New Malden | Up to £60,000
Are you an experienced Software Engineer looking to work on complex, mission-critical systems that make a real difference?
We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team developing advanced command and control software within a complex, distributed environment. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping technical solutions, mentoring engineers, and delivering high-integrity software throughout the full development lifecycle.
Location: New Malden (On-site)
Salary: Up to £60,000
The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll contribute to the design, development, testing, and delivery of sophisticated software solutions supporting complex operational systems. Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you'll help drive technical excellence while supporting project delivery and continuous product evolution.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, implementation, and testing of software solutions
- Guide and mentor Software Engineers across the development lifecycle
- Assist with planning, estimation, and project reporting activities
- Engage with customers and end users to support ongoing programme development and capability evolution
What We're Looking For
- Strong software engineering background with experience delivering robust solutions within large-scale, multi-layered distributed systems in a defence environment
- Experience supporting software development strategies and technical delivery
- Good understanding of the complete software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of software delivery methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall
- Knowledge of designing safety-critical code for platforms, control systems, power plant management, etc.
