About the Role
We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our Brighton office, with expertise in building scalable, high-quality solutions to support our most critical products: flagship access control technology.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-calibre software for our core systems, ensuring both performance and reliability.
- Mentor junior engineers and coach team members to drive continuous improvement.
- Feature development and bug fixes, following project specifications and requirements.
- Coordinate project requirements, planning, and reporting to ensure successful delivery.
- Collaborate with the:
- Principal Engineer
- Apps-Team
- Cloud-Team
- Oversee the technical integrity of:
- User interfaces
- Backend API(s)
- Mobile applications
- Cloud services
- Embrace test-driven design (TDD) and industry best practices.
- Risk mitigation: Proactively identify problems early in the development process to keep projects on track.
- Provide input to designs, suggest improvements, and participate in final decision-making to ensure deliverables advance efficiently.
- Conduct code reviews for your own and others’ work, maintaining best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Review and refine requirements, technical specifications and design documentation, ensuring product excellence.
- Contribute to evaluating and choosing architecture and technology stack for future products.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- Strong backend development experience, particularly with .NET and C#.
Strong Technical Skills
- Spanning both sides of the development stack:
- .NET Web API back-end frameworks
- HTML5/CSS3, front-end technology (preferably Angular/React)
- Database knowledge, including:
- Schema design
- Query optimisation
- Storage solutions
Preferred (but not essential)
- Azure cloud services (deployment, architecture, or DevOps).
- Demonstrated architecture leadership, contributing to overall planning for-products or teams.
- Commitment to improving cognitive diversity—embracing varied backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
