Senior Software Engineer
Senior Software Engineer – Permanent Role
Location: Alderley Park Working Style: Hybrid (50% home, 50% office-based) Closing Date: 16th July 2026
Join Royal London’s Digital team as a Senior Software Engineer, where you’ll drive digital innovation to enhance our customers' experience and support internal business needs. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, and testers to design, build, and deliver high-quality digital solutions through pragmatic design, disciplined testing, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop, and implement efficient digital solutions aligned with business and customer requirements.
- Lead and deliver complex technical changes in your specialised area, assessing impacts on existing applications.
- Document and agree designs upfront, adhering to group engineering standards and approved frameworks.
- Ensure solutions comply with Group engineering standards and pass quality gate reviews for your tech stack.
- Work closely with testers to verify code quality and address issues early.
- Safely release changes to production, supporting troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
- Foster collaboration within your team, contributing ideas and peer reviews to enhance overall product quality and standards.

About You
To thrive in this role, you should:
- Have deep expertise in C# or Angular.
- Demonstrate mastery of TDD (Test-Driven Development) and a commitment to left-shift automation.
- Possess proficient SQL knowledge for data-driven applications.
- Understand the full software development lifecycle and appreciate agile methodologies.
- Be self-sufficient—able to work independently and prioritise tasks.
- Collaborate effectively with teams across functions.
- Be enthusiastic about upskilling in new and emerging technologies.
