Senior Software Engineer
About The Role
The Print Systems Software group is looking for a new software developer colleague! The team is circa 60 software professionals in the Technical Products and Services department. We have developed our Agile mindset and continue to improve our ways of working. Our responsibilities cover the design, implementation and testing of the software for Domino coding and marking solutions whilst supporting and developing our existing products.
Responsibilities
- You will be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from discovery to delivery.
- We look to achieve our company strategic goals by having a progressive and adaptable mindset.
- We recognise both business and Agile values and principles whilst being a role model for them.
- Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Deliver value to customers by designing, developing, testing and reviewing individually deliverable software features within a team
- Delivery of sprint-goal feature tickets
- Work alongside test engineers to influence behaviours to ensure the implementation of the test strategy. Ensure that the code has sufficient test coverage and is tested at the appropriate levels (e.g. unit testing, integration tests, code reviews etc.)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proactively collaborate with individuals and other teams to achieve our business objectives
- Assist breaking down the roadmap into a backlog, identifying and mitigating risk
- Maintain professional skills, keep up to date with the latest technologies, and actively apply them to different projects, codebases and development languages

We have listed some important attributes we’ll be looking for:
- Experience in C++ and C# programming
- Embedded Linux expertise
- Experience in networking fundamentals
- Experience in microservices architecture and containerisation
- Experience of task estimation and refinement to support PM
- Take ownership and responsibility delivering both personal and team goals
- Knowledge of at least one software engineering practice. (e.g. TDD, BDD, CI/CD)
- Successful history in delivering and supporting software products throughout the SDLC and wider product life cycle
- Demonstrable experience of the values and principles of Agile methodologies
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively and establish good working relationships across internal departments
- Cyber security skills/experience desirable
