Backend/Full-Stack Engineer - Internal Tools | Physical AI Scale-Up
Blue Wolf Digital is working with a fast-growing physical AI company to find a Backend/Full-Stack Engineer for their Internal Tools team. This one's a great fit if you want real ownership, a modern stack, and a front-row seat at a company that's just closed funding and is scaling quickly.
A Bit About Our Client
They're building the next generation of physical AI - technology designed to keep critical infrastructure safe, secure, and sustainable. Their current focus is genuinely interesting: using federated AI to optimise energy usage in data centres, by sending algorithms to the data rather than the other way round. It's a smart, resource-efficient approach, and their flagship product — an AI-driven cooling efficiency application - runs on their own in-house distributed AI platform.
They've just closed a funding round and are in growth mode, which means this is a good moment to get in.
The Role
Their R&D team is split into four areas - Platform, their flagship product, Surrogate Modelling, and Internal Tools. This role sits within Internal Tools, a small team responsible for the systems that power how their core product gets deployed, operated, and supported. You'd be building production-grade tools across the stack - web apps, APIs, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD - on a modern Python and TypeScript codebase, with genuine end-to-end ownership of features that directly affect how the business scales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
