Uswitch
At Uswitch, our goal is to be the UK’s favourite way to choose and manage home-life essentials - from broadband and mobiles to energy and insurance. As we continue to grow and expand our services, we are looking for talented individuals who share our passion for making a positive impact on people's lives. If you want to be part of a team that is transforming the way consumers navigate their household services, we would love to hear from you.
We’re part of RVU, a group of online brands that include: Confused, Tempcover, money.co.uk, and Mojo Mortgages.
The energy team
Every household in the UK uses energy. Meeting the needs of this diverse population requires close collaboration with some of the largest companies in the world to develop energy products.
The market is evolving and as an increasing proportion of consumers choose electric vehicles and embrace green technology upgrades, the marketplace is increasing in complexity.
What You'll Be Doing
- Owning delivery end to end within a small, experienced team, with real autonomy over technical decisions and implementation approach
- Designing and building services across the stack. The team works across JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, and Clojure among others, so you'll be expected to pick up unfamiliar languages when needed
- Autonomy: authority over technical decisions and implementation approach, so you can deliver using methods that best align with your ways of working
- Taking full ownership of testing and quality. There's no QA function, so you'll decide where tests earn their keep and where they'd just slow you down
- Building a solid understanding of the energy market and its constraints, so you can help shape solutions rather than just build what you're told

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For
- Genuine full stack experience, comfortable building frontends (JavaScript, React or similar) but equally confident designing and building backend APIs and working with databases.
- Evidence you can pick up an unfamiliar language quickly and get productive in it. Experience across several languages (ideally including JavaScript) is great
- Pragmatic approach to deliver effective solutions to address business & consumer challenges
- Genuine curiosity about the problems our customers and energy suppliers face, rather than wanting technology for technology's sake
- Committed to your own development and excited to make a direct, substantial impact within a company that provides you with full autonomy to release changes daily.
You don’t need to tick off everything on this list - so don’t let that hold you back from applying. We want to make sure you’re learning plenty during your time with us!
Our commitment to you
