TL;DR
We're seeking an engineer who is passionate about their craft, has a bias for action, a focus on delivering customer value and low ego. If that’s you, you’ll find a bunch of like-minded people at Cloudsmith.
About Cloudsmith
Cloudsmith is building the operating system for the modern software supply chain.
We run a global, fully managed, multi-tenant SaaS platform that helps organizations, from startups to the Fortune 500, secure, govern, and distribute software artifacts at scale.
Worldwide, our customers use Cloudsmith as a critical infrastructure control plane for CI/CD, developer workflows, security controls, compliance, and software distribution, supporting 30+ formats and ecosystems across languages, containers, and operating systems.
We recently raised our Series C to accelerate Cloudsmith 2.0: deeper artifact intelligence, stronger policy and provenance, faster package-aware delivery, and infrastructure built for engineering teams, as well as the modern AI-driven software factory.
By developers, for developers: we care about craft, architecture, and enterprise scale.
The Role
Are you passionate about building high-quality software? Are you looking for a challenge that will broaden your learning, working with a wide and growing variety of technologies? Do you thrive in fast-paced, fast-growing environments?
If so, there’s a great opportunity waiting for you as a Software Engineer here at Cloudsmith!
The engineering organization is made up of multiple tribes responsible for building application capabilities that deliver value to our customers and the underlying platform on which Cloudsmith is founded. We operate in a highly collaborative environment where people with different skills come together to make things happen. We have a good approach to CI/CD, and we support a global set of customers who are developers like us.
This position is in the Artifact Engine team (aka Bytebusters), who are focused on the core of what Cloudsmith is known for - everything to do with package formats, upstreams, provenance, signatures and verification, and security scanning. We play a mission-critical role aligned with one of Cloudsmith’s key value props: gain complete control over every package, container, and software asset used across your business.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the design and delivery of complex features and APIs end-to-end, from technical design through to production and operational support
- Help keep our systems fast, reliable, and running smoothly at global scale.
- Work closely with teammates from product, design, and customer success to solve problems together.
- Put quality, reliability, performance and security first through testing, monitoring, and good engineering habits
- Share your knowledge — whether that’s through code reviews, docs, or mentoring others.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
