🚀 Senior Engineering Manager – Primary Care Technology at Abtrace

The Role
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll join our fast-growing team to deliver high-impact, well-engineered solutions that improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency. In this end-to-end leadership role, you’ll:
- Lead a cross-functional squad—collaborating with Product, Design, and Tech to ship reliable, scalable features rapidly.
- Shape our engineering culture, raise the bar, and scale people, processes, and technology.
- Foster a high-performance, ownership-driven team that balances speed, quality, and practical problem-solving.
Responsibilities
Own Delivery
- Lead technical planning & execution: Ensure on-time, high-quality software delivery.
- Scalable engineering: Drive architectures and systems that grow with business needs.

- Partner with Product & Design to refine requirements and solve user-centric problems.
- Translate technical complexity into clear, actionable decisions for stakeholders.
Raise Standards
- Champion rigorous testing, code quality, and prudent trade-offs to prevent technical debt.
- Champion a full-stack ownership mindset—from architecture to deployment.
Drive Impact & Growth
- Set new benchmarks for delivery, scalability, and developer experience.
- Mentor & coach teammates as the team expands.
- Influence our DevOps, PeopleOps, and process evolution to meet scale.
Requirements
Experience & Mindset
- 3+ years of recent leadership or management experience in engineering.
- Proven track record of growing teams and raising standards organisation-wide.
- Balances speed with quality: Pragmatic decision-making on trade-offs like feature depth, risk, and rollout cadence.
- Healthcare or B2B SaaS experience is a plus (though not mandatory).
Technical Skills
- Hands-on expertise with Python, TypeScript, React, AWS, and DevOps (e.g., CI/CD, Kubernetes).
- Ability to explain technical choices to non-engineers clearly and convincingly.
- Experience with distributed systems, scalability challenges, and data-intensive workflows.
