Senior Frontend Software Engineer (React / TypeScript)
Location: Bristol, UK
Role Summary
We are seeking Senior Frontend Software Engineers to work within cross-functional feature teams delivering front-end led capabilities for the Data Marketplace. The role focuses on building accessible, high-quality, and well-tested user interfaces on a cloud-native platform running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Responsibilities
- End-to-end software engineering (design, build, test, release)
- Strong ownership of frontend delivery quality and technical direction
- Coaching and supporting other team members within the feature team
- Work with PO, Design, and business stakeholders to understand and refine features
- Participation in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and technical communities
- Active application custodianship, including incident support and root-cause analysis

Primary focus
Experienced Frontend Software Engineers, with strong React expertise.
Skills Required
- Proven experience building accessible, testable, scalable user interfaces.
- Strong test-first mindset (TDD) and confidence writing automated tests.
- Hands-on experience with:
- React, JavaScript/TypeScript
- JestJS and modern frontend testing practices
- Accessibility standards (WCAG) and tooling (axe-core)
Desirable (bonus) skills
- Backend development with Java / Quarkus
- Working with REST APIs and PostgreSQL
- DevOps exposure across CI/CD pipelines, containers, and Kubernetes
