Bloomberg’s flagship Terminal-based Buy-Side Portfolio Management solutions empower investment professionals to monitor portfolios in real time, make informed investment decisions, and efficiently manage portfolio workflows. Serving everyone from Portfolio Managers to Chief Investment Officers, our products combine powerful analytics, automation, and interactive experiences to support the entire investment process.
We're looking for Software Engineers to join our team and help build the next generation of portfolio management applications.
What’s In It For You
As part of our team, you'll tackle exciting challenges including:
- New Product Builds: Design and build new workflows that enhance the portfolio management experience for Chief Investment Officers and senior Portfolio Managers.
- Portfolio Insights and Automation: Design and build scalable, API-first capabilities that deliver real-time portfolio insights, automate portfolio management workflows, and help investment professionals identify, prioritize, and act on portfolio events efficiently.
- Cross-System Integration: Collaborate closely with teams across Bloomberg’s Buy-Side product suite to deliver joined-up workflows that span multiple applications and services.
- Scale and Performance: Build scalable systems that aggregate and process portfolio data across large, complex client portfolios, ensuring responsive and reliable user experiences.
- Observability: Implement advanced monitoring and analytics to optimise user experience and address performance bottlenecks effectively.
- Maintenance and Stability: Contribute to ongoing codebase improvements, ensuring compliance with the latest standards and enhancing engineering-driven quality initiatives.

You Will Need To Have
- Experience in TypeScript, JavaScript and/or Python
- Interest in Client-Facing Workflows: A passion for crafting user-centric solutions within a product-oriented team environment.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with product, UX and engineering teams
- A pragmatic approach to solving complex technical and product problems

- React Experience: Familiarity with React will accelerate your contributions to our front-end development efforts.
- Experience with Python back-end services, APIs or data processing workflows
- Interest in Financial Workflows: Curiosity about financial workflows is advantageous, though prior experience is not necessary.
- Interest in UX: Enthusiasm for user experience best practices and a willingness to collaborate with UX specialists to deliver engaging interfaces.
- Experience building scalable, observable and maintainable systems
- Ability to work across team boundaries and drive alignment on complex, cross-product initiatives
