About the Role
A highly regarded technology-driven investment firm is looking to hire experienced Software Engineers to join its growing engineering function in Newcastle. Working alongside exceptional engineers, researchers, and quantitative professionals, you'll develop the critical systems that power fast-paced, data environments.
This is an opportunity to work on complex engineering challenges where performance, scalability, and reliability are fundamental. Engineers are trusted with ownership from day one, collaborating in small, highly technical teams to build and improve the platforms that underpin real-time decision making.

Key Responsibilities
- Backend development in languages such as C#, Python, C++, Rust, Java, Typescript, or other.
- Designing and building RESTful APIs.
- Frontend development using React and TypeScript.
- Working with SQL databases and modern web frameworks.
- Deploying applications to cloud environments (AWS/Azure).

Key Requirements
- Strong full-stack or backend development experience.
- Familiarity with modern web technologies and cloud platforms.
- Understanding of software engineering best practices.
Additional Criteria
- STEM degree 2:1 or better from a leading university.
