Senior Software Engineer - AI & Platform Transformation
Outside IR35 Contract | £500-650/day | Remote UK
A major UK organisation is embarking on one of its largest technology transformation programmes, modernising customer-facing and back-office platforms while adopting AI (Claude code) across the business. This is an opportunity as a Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in reshaping how millions of customers interact with them, whilst helping engineering teams move towards modern cloud-native architectures and AI-driven ways of working.
As the Senior Software Engineer, you'll be joining an experienced transformation team delivering a broad range of initiatives including migrating legacy middleware to Azure, modernising enterprise integrations, introducing AI-powered customer and employee experiences, and helping replace legacy technology with scalable, cloud-native services.
Senior Software Engineer details:
- Rate: £500-650pd OUTSIDE IR35
- Term: 6 months rolling/extendable (expecting at least 12 months worth of work)
- Location: Remote (must be based in, and eligible to work in UK)
As the Senior Software Engineer, you'll be involved in:
- Modernising customer-facing and internal business platforms.
- Migrating enterprise middleware from on-premise environments into Azure.
- Designing and building modern C#/.NET APIs and microservices.
- Implementing AI capabilities across the business using tools such as Claude and other LLM technologies.
- Building AI agents to automate administrative processes and improve contact centre efficiency.
- Integrating modern cloud services and enterprise platforms.
- Supporting the implementation of Snowflake and wider cloud data capabilities.
- Working closely with architects, product teams and senior stakeholders to shape the future technical landscape.
- Improving engineering practices, CI/CD and platform reliability.

We're looking for Senior Software Engineers with experience in:
- C# /.Net (Core/.NET 6+)
- Azure (Functions, Service Bus, API Management, App Services, Azure DevOps etc.)
- React
- Enterprise integration and middleware (Tibco preferred)
- API-first architecture
- Cloud migration and platform modernisation
- AI engineering or practical commercial use of LLMs (Claude, Azure AI, OpenAI etc.)
- Event-driven architectures and distributed systems
Senior Software Engineer particularly valuable experience:

You'll suit this Senior Software Engineer role if you:

This is a long-term contract Senior Software Engineer opportunity working alongside a highly experienced engineering team on a programme that combines cloud migration, enterprise integration, AI adoption and large-scale platform modernisation.
