About the Role
In a rapidly evolving financial ecosystem, RippleX is shaping the future of blockchain technology by advancing the capabilities of the XRP Ledger (XRPL)—one of the fastest and most reliable public blockchains today. The Programmability team plays a pivotal role in extending the core XRPL architecture by pioneering smart contract development and complex on-ledger functionality. We’re seeking passionate engineering talents to design, implement, and refine these critical foundations.
The Team
RippleX is dedicated to democratising digital finance by fostering a vibrant developer community and unlocking new mainstream accessibility to XRPL’s ground-breaking tools and expertise.
Responsibilities
- Core Ledger Development: Design, build, and maintain foundational components of the XRPL to enhance programmability, smart contract capabilities, performance, and scalability.
- WASM Virtual Machine Integration & Maintenance: Lead the incorporation of a WebAssembly (WASM) VM within the C++ core of XRPL—bridging the gap for more advanced on-ledger functionalities.
- Full SDLC Ownership: Steer the software development lifecycle, from architecture and high-level design through implementation in C++ and Rust, to rigorous testing at every stage.
- Architectural & Collaboration Leadership: Author system design documents and engage in technical discussions with both internal and external engineering stakeholders.
- open-source Leadership: Champion high coding/test standards and actively participate in the open-source community, contributing to rigorous code reviews and peer discussions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
