Senior Software Engineer / Developer (C++ SQL AWS) London / WFH

Are you a highly technical C++ Software Engineer with front office trading experience looking to work on complex, business critical systems?

Join a collaborative, global engineering team delivering a strategic trading platform for a leading financial services client. You'll work closely with traders, stakeholders and domain experts to design and build high-performance solutions, taking ownership of the full software development lifecycle from requirements through to production.

As a Senior Software Engineer you'll solve challenging technical problems, influence architecture and continuously improve trading systems while working alongside exceptional engineers. You'll also have the opportunity to broaden your technical expertise, working across AWS, SQL and DevOps, with the chance to develop Java skills over time. The team embraces AI-assisted software development and is passionate about using modern engineering practices to deliver better software, faster.

Location / WFH

You'll be based on client site in London, City offices with flexibility to work from home twice a week.

About you

  • You have strong commercial C++ development experience
  • You have front office capital markets experience with a good understanding of trade flows, the trade lifecycle and FIX protocol
  • You have strong SQL skills
  • You have AWS experience and a good understanding of DevOps and CI/CD
  • You have a strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Design Patterns, Algorithms
  • You have a strong interest in emerging technologies and are comfortable with AI enabled development
  • You're a collaborative communicator who enjoys working directly with users, stakeholders and globally distributed teams
  • You are degree educated (2:1 or above) in Computer Science or a related STEM discipline from a leading university (e.g. Russel Group / Oxbridge), backed by outstanding A-levels (minimum AAB)
