Senior Software Engineer
Senior Full Stack Engineer | London | Hybrid | AI Product Scale Up (start-up) | Python & TypeScript
Salary: £95,000-£110,000 + equity
Location: London, hybrid working (1 day per week)
A high growth AI product company is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a strong engineering team building a platform already being used at meaningful scale.
This is the kind of environment where engineers are trusted with real ownership, expected to contribute to technical direction, and surrounded by people who care deeply about building good products well.
The product is live, revenue is strong, customers are using it daily, and growth is happening quickly enough that engineering quality and scalability now matter just as much as speed.
They are still early enough that strong engineers can heavily influence architecture, product direction, engineering standards, and how the platform evolves over the next few years.
What you’ll be doing:
- Building end to end product features across frontend and backend
- Designing APIs, backend services, data models, and user facing functionality
- Improving platform performance, usability, reliability, and maintainability as usage scales
- Contributing to technical direction and engineering standards across the product
- Working closely with product and design teams to shape solutions collaboratively
- Mentoring and supporting other engineers through strong technical practice and communication
- Making pragmatic engineering decisions without overengineering everything into oblivion

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The calibre bar is high! The team is high performing, thoughtful, and technically strong. Engineers here are expected to contribute ideas, challenge assumptions, and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
For the right person, it is one of those rare opportunities where you get meaningful ownership, a smart team, commercial traction, and a product that is already proving itself in the market, without joining so late that all the interesting decisions have already been made!
