Job Opportunity: Senior Software Engineer
I'm currently partnering with a high-performing FX trading technology team looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to help build and evolve the next generation of their real-time trading platform.
This is an opportunity to work on technology that sits at the heart of a global trading business, building highly scalable, low-latency systems that process millions of events and market data updates every day.
The role offers a genuine mix of high-performance backend engineering and modern front-end development, giving you the opportunity to work across distributed services, real-time data platforms, and Angular applications used directly by traders and business users.
When market volatility increases, trade volumes can spike within seconds, so the platform must remain fast, resilient, and fault-tolerant under extreme load. You'll be solving challenging engineering problems around scalability, concurrency, messaging, and performance in an environment where technology is a real competitive advantage.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
