Senior Software Engineer – Cyber (Java, Spring, AWS)
Location for this position is flexible, we are accepting candidates who are able to work 2 days a week onsite in Osterley, or Livingston office.

What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software products that solve complex cybersecurity and trust sensitive challenges.
- Build and enhance security-critical applications, applying secure coding practices, threat awareness, and defense-in-depth principles.
- Support the full software development lifecycle, including feature development, customization of existing systems, production support, and release rollouts.
- Produce clear, accurate technical documentation such as software designs, technical requirements, evaluation plans, and test results.
- Apply sound engineering methodologies and best practices to deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
- Participate in architectural and design discussions, and clearly articulate technical decisions to internal stakeholders.
What You'll Bring
- Strong problem-solving and system design skills to build mission critical cloud-native software products
- Advanced proficiency in software development in Java and Spring Framework, developing secure APIs and Web Applications on AWS using Serverless architecture.
- Demonstrated success operating and supporting software products or large-scale, highly available applications in production.
- Experience working on AWS Lambda, Dynamo DB, ECS and Aurora
- Experience building software using Agile methodologies and rapid software development.
- Experience working with OIDC, SAML, or OAuth2 authorization patterns to secure APIs
- Experience developing applications using Angular and NodeJS
- Experience in Java Cryptography Extensions, OpenSSL, Bouncy Castle libs
- Prior experience or knowledge of PKI systems, or Secrets Management products.

Our team includes Cyber Fusion Centre, Security Services, Risk and Compliance, Programme Delivery and Business Security, and we work across the UK, Italy and Germany. Your office space
Osterley OR Brick Lane
Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
On campus, you’ll find 13 subsidised restaurants, cafes, and a Waitrose. You can keep in shape at our subsidised gym, catch the latest shows and movies at our cinema, get your car washed, and even get pampered at our beauty salon.
Our Brick Lane office is based in the vibrant East End of London, an area known for its creativity and culture. The office is surrounded by a wide range of places to eat, meet and explore, making it a great spot to work and connect.
We’re well connected by public transport, with Aldgate East as the nearest tube station, and Liverpool Street Station a 10-minute walk away, offering Underground, National Rail and Elizabeth line services. If cycling is more your thing, bike parking, showers and changing facilities are available onsite. Car parking onsite is limited, however there are public car parks within a 5-minute walk.
