Job Description
About the Role
Join the Assured Build team as a Senior Software Engineer – Cyber Security Configuration Assurance and shape vital automation solutions across Lloyds Banking Group (LBG).
You’ll engineer and scale systems that embed security into every stage of software development and delivery—from integrating security baselines in pipelines to tooling and infrastructure—fueling LBG’s secure-by-design vision.
Operating in an agile, DevOps-led environment, you’ll deliver enterprise-scale automation, improving efficiency, consistency, and security resilience.
Responsibilities
Concentrate on:
- Designing, building, and advancing automation services to assure security in static build artefacts and CI/CD pipelines
- Increasing automation, reducing manual effort, and eliminating candidate security risks
- Embedding Security Relevant Configuration (SRC) controls into code pipelines, tooling, and platforms
- Guiding engineering workflows with structure and security focus
- Exploring innovation in secure-by-design practices and collaboration models

What You’ll Bring
Essential Skills & Experience
- 3–5+ years in software engineering/DevOps, preferably within enterprise or large-scale environments
- Proven hands-on skills in writing, maintaining, and innovating code across scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.) and automation tooling
- Broad knowledge of cyber security domains, cloud security (focus: Azure and GCP)
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub)
- DevOps mindset, knowledge of secure-by-design principles, and drive for automation to eliminate repetitive tasks
Industries & Environments History
- Work experience in industries/environments that align with this role’s key domains would be advantageous
Nice-to-Haves
- Exposure to vulnerability scanning, configuration assurance, or security-assurance tools
- Database integration and analysis skills
- Use of automation workflows through Power Platform or similar
