About the Role
Tired of how recruitment works? Come join us and do something about it.
We're turning Wave into the first AI-native tech recruitment business in the world - and we're looking for another engineer to help us build it.
The Problem
Every agency sits on relationships and information. Almost none of them turn the information into an advantage. We're building the layer that does: every candidate, company and conversation, captured and made useful. That's Mothership, our internal data lake, copilot and dashboard product. It already powers Wave Mind, our external product, which is live and revenue generating.

Iβm in my final year doing Economics and I donβt know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer β it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donβt need a masters. Letβs look at the ones youβd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant β 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
Youβve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon β deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme β client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right β and where to focus when applying.
The Gap We're Hiring For
Someone who can move between building the product surfaces people actually use (dashboards, copilot workflows) and hardening the data foundation underneath (pipelines, schema, data quality). Roughly 50/50.
Who This Is For
- 4-6 years building and shipping software, ideally with a genuine product or front-end chapter before you moved into data
- Real pipeline experience: monitoring, alerting, schema versioning, no silent failures
- Strong Python and SQL; TypeScript/React is a bonus
- You use Claude Code and AI tooling as a daily force multiplier, not a novelty
- Comfortable making architectural calls without a complete spec
- You want equity, real ownership and a seat on the roadmap, not a ticket queue

Our Current Stack
- Python, SQL, PostgreSQL, Supabase, GCP, and React/Next.js
- Node.js/TypeScript on the product side
- Bullhorn, Granola, Xero, Notion, Slack, Claude in the daily toolkit
Why Now
Our Wave Labs team is currently 7 people. The foundation is built. The product is proven in market. This is the stage where the person who joins shapes what gets built next, not the stage where you inherit someone else's roadmap.
We're not competing with other agencies. We're competing with funded agentic recruitment startups like Jack & Jill and Dex, who have the AI but none of the relationships or database. We have all three and we're building the tech to match.
βIt took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what Iβve been looking for.β
