Lead Software Engineer (Java)

Manchester (hybrid)

£70-80,000 plus generous benefits

Java, AWS, javascript, microservices, RestAPIs

A new UK team being built for an established European business. Growing UK presence means we can build a UK team of engineers, to work on a modern life & pension platform. You’ll start by contributing to international projects (Denmark and the Netherlands) to gain hands-on product experience and then help drive new implementations in the UK.

The tech stack is a modern Java stack. Full microservice architecture and integrated devops, cicd and testing. You'll be working on:

  • Designing and building REST APIs and integrating components into large system landscapes
  • Actively contributing to the creation and development of the UK tech roadmap
  • Working with automated testing and performance optimisation
  • Supporting the growth of the team, process improvement, helping recruit if you wish to get involved

Experience we are seeking:

  • In these early days some industry experience would be highly beneficial (pensions, insurance or related finance/fintech)
  • Java stack experience
  • Modern architectures and ways of working
  • Some experience in high growth or scale-up, start-up type operation would be useful but not essential
  • A degree or equivalent would be preferred
