Software Engineering Manager – Fulfilment Platforms
📍 London, UK (Hybrid) | 🕒 Full-time
We’re partnering with a major enterprise client undergoing large-scale digital transformation to hire a Software Engineering Manager to lead and evolve critical fulfilment platforms.
This is a high-impact leadership role focused on building and scaling engineering teams while delivering complex systems that power end-to-end fulfilment operations.
🚀 About the Role
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll lead high-performing teams responsible for software supporting fulfilment operations, from in-store processes and order collection to supplier and carrier integrations.
You’ll play a key role in driving engineering excellence, shaping technical direction, and ensuring the successful delivery of scalable, reliable systems.

🔧 Responsibilities
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing engineering teams
- Drive delivery of complex software initiatives aligned to business goals
- Collaborate with product, design, and operational stakeholders to shape roadmaps
- Provide technical leadership across architecture and system design
- Champion modern engineering practices, tools, and delivery approaches
- Embed DevOps principles and ensure scalable, resilient production systems
- Improve engineering standards, developer experience, and delivery efficiency

🧠 Requirements
- Proven experience leading and growing engineering teams
- Background as a hands-on senior engineer
- Strong experience delivering scalable, backend systems (Java preferred)
- Deep understanding of system design, architecture, and modern engineering practices
- Experience working across complex enterprise environments
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Passion for mentoring, coaching, and continuous improvement
