Senior Software Engineer – Global KYC and Onboarding Team
At Wise, a global technology company building best-in-class financial solutions, we’re redefining how the world moves money. Min fees, max ease, full speed. Our mission is to make international financial transactions seamless, affordable, and accessible – for everyone, everywhere.
The Role
As part of the Global KYC and Onboarding Squad within the Servicing department, you’ll be central to helping Wise scale securely while delivering frictionless onboarding experiences globally across three key teams:
- Business Onboarding Verification
- Personal Onboarding Verification
- Wise Platform Verification (B2B operations)
Our diverse, cross-functional teams (engineers, designers, analysts, product managers) collaborate to solve complex challenges like document collection flows, automated review systems, agent tooling, and compliance monitoring. You’ll own critical verification journeys that bridge regulatory rigor with a fast, intuitive customer experience.
Congratulations on your autonomy! Characterised by data-driven decisions and technical excellence, this is one of finance’s most innovative verification ecosystems. The change you create here transforms onboarding from a hassle into a seamless first impression—bringing entrepreneurs, individuals, and employees closer to borderless finance.
We’re not just platform builders; we’re barrier removers.
Senior Software Engineer Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll architect and lead large-scale projects that push verification boundaries:
Technical Leadership & Ownership
- Define and execute a robust technical roadmap addressing end-to-end challenges: technical debt, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Design clean, scalable backend systems that expose internally complex workflows via well-structured APIs and interfaces.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
