About the Role
Wise is seeking a passionate Software Engineer to join the Personal & Business Pricing Team.
This opportunity allows you to contribute directly to Wise’s growth by shaping the pricing infrastructure that supports nearly every product launch and promotion. You'll:
- Work in a collaborative, dynamic team while gaining cross-functional exposure.
- Partner with global and regional product teams to enable features and experiments.
- Help technologically direct the team’s upcoming work, ensuring high-speed, scalable, and accurate infrastructure.
Your work will have direct, measurable impact—helping millions around the world save money and integrate financial services seamlessly.
Responsibilities
You’ll design and build pricing features end-to-end, ensuring your contributions align with the needs of:
- Product teams (promotions, campaigns, international payments, etc.).
- Global customers with diverse needs.
- Regulatory and compliance requirements.

Key projects include:
- Designing and engineering pricing services, tools, and tooling.
- Guiding architectural decisions while maintaining high coding standards.
- Driving initiatives to enhance reliability, scalability, and observability—ensuring high-performance pricing infrastructure.
- Resolving incidents technically and leading post-incident reviews and improvements.
- Collaborating with stakeholders (product, compliance, regional teams) to refine requirements and priorities.
You’ll manage engineering trade-offs that optimize for speed, scalability, and risk while maintaining an efficient, predictable delivery cadence.
Qualifications
Essential
Technical Excellence:
- Background in software engineering, with a record of delivering significant contributions to complex systems.
- Deep expertise in relevant technical disciplines (e.g., distributed systems, reliability, security).
- Hands-on approach to availability, reliability, and security, following rigorous best practices.
- Ability to make sensible trade-offs between speed, scalability, and risk while optimising delivery predictability.
Ownership & Product Mindset:
- Take end-to-end ownership of projects, balancing timelines and ambition.
- Align code and decisions with customer problems and expected impact.
- Communicate technical and business intent clearly, justifying why solutions are chosen.
- Take a leading role in escalation & incident management, both neutral and emergency contexts.

Experience & Interdisciplinary Engagement:
- Strong ability to engage with product, compliance, and stakeholders, shaping requirements and priorities.
- Proven experience in collaborative environments, balancing clear communication between technical and non-technical teams.
- Open to feedback and growth, with a supportive mentorship approach to team development and new joiners.
Nice to Have
Experience in relevant fields:
- Payments or fintech.
- Global/distributed team environments.
- Compliance-heavy domains (such as SOX, fee disclosure, tax).
- Data-driven engineering, where some business logic resides in data in addition to code.
