Senior Software Engineer

The Opportunity

Join a leading digital bank that is transforming the way millions of customers manage their finances. We're looking for a talented Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale the distributed systems that power critical financial products used every day.

This is a high-impact role where you'll take ownership of backend services from design and development through to deployment and production support. You'll work on highly scalable systems processing thousands of transactions daily, contributing to architectural decisions that directly influence the customer experience.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, build, and scale high-performance backend services using Java and/or Kotlin.
  • Own services throughout their lifecycle, including deployment, monitoring, incident management, and reliability improvements.
  • Contribute to system architecture, technical strategy, and engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Build and maintain scalable, resilient distributed systems.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools (such as Claude and similar technologies) as part of your daily engineering workflow to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
