Securities Finance Developer (.NET)

London | Contract | Inside IR35 | Hybrid

Our client is seeking an experienced .NET Developer to join its Equity Technology team in London, working within a specialist Securities Finance technology group delivering strategic platform enhancements and regulatory-driven change initiatives.

This role will focus on the firm's established Securities Lending platform, supporting major modernisation initiatives across stock lending, settlement processing, SWIFT messaging, and T+1-related programmes. You'll work closely with developers, operations teams, and business stakeholders across London, the US, and Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance core Securities Finance applications.
  • Deliver changes across a large-scale Microsoft technology estate, including WPF,.NET, and SQL Server solutions.
  • Contribute to platform modernisation and integration initiatives while maintaining compatibility with existing systems.
  • Enhance settlement, messaging, and trade lifecycle processing capabilities.
  • Work directly with business users, operations teams, and fellow developers to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Own projects and issues from design through to deployment.
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation and automated tests.
  • Leverage tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude to accelerate development and improve code quality.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with C#/.NET development.
  • Experience working with WPF desktop applications.
  • Strong SQL Server development skills.
  • Experience within complex enterprise or financial services environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Proven ability to investigate requirements, overcome blockers, and drive delivery.

Highly Desirable

  • Securities Lending / Stock Loan experience.
  • Prime Brokerage, Delta One, Equity Finance, or Equity Swaps knowledge.
  • Exposure to trade lifecycle, settlement, or post-trade systems.
  • Experience with WCF and legacy Microsoft platforms.
  • Knowledge of SWIFT messaging.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
