Senior Software Engineer (.NET / AWS)
£70,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits
Manchester (Hybrid – 2 Days Per Week)

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll help evolve a large-scale platform from a legacy architecture into a modern, cloud-native ecosystem, working alongside a high-calibre engineering team building software that delivers genuine business impact.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced backend engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, influencing architectural decisions and working with modern engineering practices.
The Opportunity
You'll play a key role in designing, building and evolving highly scalable backend services whilst contributing to the wider technical direction of the platform.
- Working within an Agile engineering team, you'll be involved throughout the software lifecycle—from architecture and design through to deployment, optimisation and continuous improvement.
- Although the role has some front-end responsibilities, it is predominantly backend focused, with modern.NET and AWS at its core.

What You'll Be Doing
- Design and develop scalable applications using modern.NET technologies.
- Build secure, high-performance cloud-native solutions on AWS.
- Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven services.
- Help modernise legacy applications into microservice-based architectures.
- Contribute to technical design sessions and architectural decisions.
- Champion engineering best practices including automated testing, CI/CD and code quality.
- Work closely with Product, QA and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
- Support production systems and drive continuous platform improvements.
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity and software quality.

About You
We're looking for engineers who combine strong technical capability with a collaborative mindset.
Essential
- Strong commercial experience developing applications using .NET / .NET Core / C#.
- Commercial experience building solutions within AWS.
- Experience developing scalable REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of Docker and containerised applications.
- Passion for clean, maintainable code.

- Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.
- Event-driven or distributed systems.
- React or modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Microservices architecture.
