Overall Ambition

Help shape the future of Nando's at-counter customer and employee experience by building high-quality frontend applications used across our global restaurant estate.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to join our passionate, lean, agile, fast-growing and evolving technology team on a permanent basis. You'll be an engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, building high-quality user experiences and continuously improving how software is delivered. You'll thrive working in a collaborative environment where ownership, curiosity and continuous learning are encouraged.
Living the Nando's Values
As a Nandoca, you'll embody the values that make Nando's unique.
- Pride – Take ownership of your work, hold yourself to high standards and care deeply about delivering quality outcomes.
- Passion – Bring energy, curiosity and enthusiasm to solving problems and creating exceptional customer experiences.

- Family – Collaborate openly, support your teammates and contribute to an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
These values shape how we work together, make decisions and build technology that moves Nando's forward.
The Role
As a Frontend Software Engineer, you'll design, develop, deploy and maintain modern user interfaces using Flutter and Dart across both desktop and mobile platforms. Working closely with Technical Leads, Product Managers, Designers and Backend Engineers, you'll help deliver intuitive, performant and resilient applications that power our Point of Sale and Kitchen Management platforms.
You'll enjoy solving complex engineering problems while expanding your technical expertise across modern frontend technologies. We'll continue investing in your growth through training, conferences and opportunities to progress your career as our engineering organisation continues to scale. You'll be comfortable owning frontend features from design through to production, working independently on complex UI development while collaborating closely with your teammates through pairing, design discussions and code reviews.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About the Point of Sale & Kitchen Management Team
Our mission is to transform the at-counter experience for both Customers and Nandocas across the globe by replacing legacy Point of Sale providers with a best-in-class, Nando's-built platform.
This is a largely greenfield programme that will become the core of Nando's ordering technology, building upon our successful digital ordering and kitchen management platforms.
Although based in the UK, the platform supports restaurants globally across the UK, South Africa, Australia and the USA, providing exciting engineering challenges around localisation, configurability and regional requirements.
The Point of Sale application delivers the assisted ordering experience, providing opportunities to build highly responsive, state-driven interfaces that integrate seamlessly with menus, payments and ordering systems. Reliability is critical, with features such as offline capability ensuring restaurants can continue trading even when connectivity is limited.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers and technical leads across multiple disciplines.
- Pair regularly with teammates and contribute to improving engineering practices and team ways of working.
- Contribute technical input towards backlog refinement, solution design and estimation.
- Design and build modern Flutter applications using Dart across desktop and mobile platforms.
- Develop comprehensive automated test coverage including Unit, Widget and Integration tests.
- Maintain production applications, ensuring excellent monitoring, observability and crash reporting.
- Build and maintain robust frontend CI/CD pipelines and support troubleshooting of build and release issues.
- Optimise application performance, responsiveness and user experience.
- Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices across the team.
- Continuously improve the quality, maintainability and scalability of our frontend applications.
