About the Role
Currency Cloud was acquired by Visa in December 2021. The Treasury Liquidity Observability Team is responsible for building the engine that observes where our funds are—or are projected to be—at any given time, enabling optimized liquidity management across our global network.
This engine will leverage modern architectural principles, including event-driven approaches, to ensure:
- Scalability
- Resilience
- Real-time decision-making
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, your role will focus on designing and implementing this engine while collaborating with engineers and stakeholders. You’ll lightly advocate for event-driven architectures within the team rather than broader evangelism.
Technical Environment:
- Stack: AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), microservices architecture, Kafka for streaming, and Pact for contract testing.
- Tech Stack Includes:
- Java (versions 11+), preferably with Spring Boot
- High-availability, cloud-native applications built to 12-factor principles
- Docker, Kubernetes, ElasticSearch, log management systems, and Datadog APM
- OpenAPI (Swagger) for API specifications
- SQL & large-scale database solutions
- AWS automation (familiarity with Terraform and Docker is beneficial)

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
