Flexciton is a SaaS company empowering high-tech factories worth hundreds of millions of dollars to produce advanced chips using cutting-edge investment. With operations spanning the US, Europe, and expanding into Asia, we are pioneering the Autonomous Factory—ensuring the best production schedules in real-time, from our London office.

Leading companies like Seagate already rely on Flexciton to manage their production 24/7, trusting us with the complexity of their slicing-edge fabrication processes, which may take up to nine months to realise.

Job Title: Software Engineer (Optimisation/Operations Research)

Why This Role?

We’re looking for a Software Engineer with specialism in optimisation/operations research to join our close-knit team and challenge the status quo in semiconductor production. You will design, implement, and scale decision-making algorithms that directly impact some of the world's leading fabrication facilities. Whether it’s guiding junior engineers or proposing advanced research—your work helps realise the Autonomous Factory.

As a senior team member, you’ll tackle complex optimisation challenges, consult on technical roadmaps, and push boundaries by promoting best-in-class optimisation methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement state-of-the-art optimisation solutions for the entire app suite, addressing critical challenges in complex semiconductor scheduling/planning across multiple systems.
  • Research and develop innovative methodologies, including Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP), constraint programming, and metaheuristics—always with real-world applicability in mind.
  • Develop heuristic search algorithms and discrete-event simulation models to optimize large-scale manufactured, handling real production constraints.
  • Collaborate directly with customer-facing teams to deploy optimisation models live in leading semiconductor fabrication plants—ensuring pinpoint accuracy and scalability.
  • Establish performance benchmarks and analytical metrics to benchmark and refine optimisation model efficacy—proving that we’re leading the field.
  • Mentor junior team members while contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives, helpingycztratera data across roles.
  • Engage in strategic roadmap discussions, influencing the technical direction of our optimisation stack and our commitment to autonomous industry solutions.
  • Translate highly technical manufacturing problems into workable algorithmic solutions, aligned with cross-functional teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
