If you're an experienced PHP Developer looking for more than another feature factory, this is an opportunity to make a genuine technical impact.
You'll join a growing software business following a recent acquisition, helping bring together two complementary products used by some of the UK's best-known food manufacturers. The business has an ambitious roadmap and a clear vision to modernise an established platform whilst continuing to deliver value to customers.
You'll help shape how a PHP application evolves into a modern Laravel-based platform and be the senior technical voice within a growing PHP team, influencing architecture, improving engineering standards and mentoring developers, whilst remaining hands-on throughout. We need someone who can hit the ground running, taking ownership of complex technical challenges whilst helping the wider team become more effective.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading development across a large PHP platform
- Driving the migration towards Laravel
- Improving architecture, code quality and engineering standards
- Mentoring and supporting other developers
- Designing APIs and integrations
- Refactoring legacy code into maintainable solutions
- Working closely with Product and Engineering leadership
- Helping shape technical direction across the platform
Key technical skills:
- PHP
- Laravel or another modern PHP framework such as Symfony
- SQL Server
- REST APIs
This is a remote role with a top end salary for £70k.
