Senior Software Engineer (Platform)

Senior Software Engineer (Trading Platform) - Longshot Systems

About the Role

At Longshot Systems, we build advanced platforms for sports betting analytics and trading. We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our trading platform team—a pivotal role where you’ll shape the technical direction and implement solutions to drive product, performance, and stability goals.

You’ll own our mission-critical trading platform, which integrates with bookmakers and exchanges globally. Our systems process thousands of odds updates and trades per second with strict latency, correctness, and quality standards. Your work will include:

  • Extending trading capability by integrating new venues
  • Optimising core systems for performance and stability
  • Enhancing scalability, safety, and speed of the platform
  • Supporting historical data repositories and research initiatives

Our stack is built on Golang, with robust message buses and databases at the foundation. We value hard problem-solving, clear architecture, and high-quality code.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
