The team are using Python but open to a range of backgrounds - we are looking for strong engineers with a passion for all things climate tech and happy in a start up environment.

This is a Hybrid role - Average 3 days a week in Waterloo

The Role You will own features and systems from discovery through to production and ongoing iteration. Strong engineers here progress quickly, take on meaningful responsibility early, and have a direct impact on the products they build.

What You Will Bring

Senior level experience as a Software Engineer with strong hands on experience in Full Stack environments. (Preference for Python but open to any background if happy to work with Python). Proven ability to ship and maintain production software in a fast moving product environment. Demonstrated pragmatism in engineering decisions, knowing when to refactor, when to ship, and when to leave well alone. Strong object oriented fundamentals applied to complex, evolving production code bases. A clear ownership mindset and the ability to translate business requirements into clean, proportionate technical solutions without over engineering. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across product and engineering teams. Energy for rapid iterative delivery cycles rather than resistance to them

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
