The Role: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Brighton | Contract: Permanent

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain high-quality, scalable software for our flagship access control products. In this hands-on role, you’ll mentor junior engineers and influence the technical direction of our solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software Architecture & Development:
    • Design scalable, high-performance software (back-end, front-end, APIs, mobile, and cloud services)
    • Apply test-driven development (TDD) and best practices to ensure quality
    • Collaborate with Principal Engineers, Apps, and Cloud teams
  • Project Leadership:
    • Lead requirements, planning, and reporting
    • Mitigate risks through early problem-solving
  • Mentorship & Code Ownership:
    • Guide team members on designs, code reviews, and practices
    • Lead architectural decisions for our software
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Review & refine requirements, specs, and designs

Requirements & Fit

Technical Skills

  • Essential:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
    • Proficiency in C#/.NET backend development (including .NET Web API)
    • Hands-on experience with database design & management
    • Strong programming fundamentals & API development
  • Advantageous:
    • Knowledge of .NET technologies (e.g., Angular/React frontend, Azure cloud services)
