Technical Lead (Node.js / TypeScript)

Salford / Hybrid (4 days onsite)
£75,000 - £90,000 + 10% Bonus

Not every leadership role has to mean stepping away from engineering.

My client is a fast-growing eCommerce business investing heavily in its technology platform and engineering team. They're looking for a Technical Lead who enjoys solving complex technical problems, designing scalable systems and writing production code, whilst helping a small team of engineers perform at their best.

This is a genuine hands-on leadership role where you'll influence architecture, engineering standards and technical direction without becoming a full-time people manager.

If you're the person your team relies on for the toughest technical challenges and you're ready to take on greater ownership, this could be the perfect next step.

The Role

Working closely with senior technology leadership, you'll help shape the future of the engineering function whilst remaining actively involved in day-to-day software development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
