This Senior PLC Programmer role is working for an electronics manufacturer in Portsmouth. The role is Monday to Friday, with an early Friday finish. The role is paying up to £52,840 depending on experience.
About the Role
This Senior PLC Programmer role is responsible for maintaining, improving and supporting advanced manufacturing equipment within a highly automated production environment. The position involves programming and fault-finding across PLCs, robots, HMIs, vision systems, servos, RFID and other automation technologies, while driving improvements to machine reliability, efficiency and production throughput.

As a technical leader within the team, the successful candidate will provide mentoring, training and guidance to junior engineers, helping to develop capability across the wider automation function. The role requires extensive hands-on experience with industrial automation systems, strong problem-solving abilities and the confidence to take ownership of complex technical challenges while supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing operation.

Requirements
- Previous experience with PLC and software programming
- Proven ability to train and develop others
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Mitsubishi PLCs is advantageous
- Practical experience with Robot, HMI and Vision system programming
