Senior Software Quality Engineer (SaaS) – UK-Based (Remote)
This remote senior QA role is open for a Senior Software Quality Engineer specialising in SaaS, based in the United Kingdom, responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of a fast-growing healthcare SaaS platform.
About the Role
The position plays a critical role in defining and elevating quality engineering practices across the software development lifecycle (SDLC), combining manual testing with advanced automation, API validation, and data reconciliation. Success in this role requires collaboration with engineers, product, and customer teams to maintain high-quality releases and build scalable QA systems—not just execute test cases.

Accountabilities
As a Senior Quality Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Developing and continuously enhancing QA strategy, processes, and standards to improve:
- Overall software quality
- Release confidence
- Production stability across the SaaS platform

Designing, executing, and maintaining manual testing efforts, including:
- Test plans, exploratory testing, and regression testing
- Validation of complex business workflows

Building and evolving test automation frameworks for:
- UI layer testing (e.g., using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or TestCafe)
- API layer testing (via CI/CD integration to improve coverage and reliability)
- Ensuring seamless automation adoption

Performing API testing and validation using tools like Postman, including:
- Authentication & authorization
- Error handling
- Regression suite automation

Conducting data validation and reconciliation using SQL to:
- Verify system integrity
- Investigate production issues
- Validate backend processes and integrations (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL)

Collaborating across cross-functional teams, including:
- Developers to review requirements and triage defects
- Product managers to identify quality risks
- Stakeholders to communicate effectively on QA outcomes

Maintaining comprehensive QA documentation, such as:
- Test cases
- Release checklists
- Regression suites
- Defect logs and QA reports
Requirements
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
✅ 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer in SaaS or enterprise-grade web applications, with ownership of end-to-end quality
✅ Proven expertise in:
- Manual testing, test case design, and exploratory testing
- Complex workflow validation
- Requirement analysis and workflow planning
✅ Strong automation experience, including:
- Test automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, TestCafe)
- CI/CD pipeline integration to enhance test efficiency
✅ Advanced API testing skills (Postman, REST APIs, authentication flows, error-handling validation)
✅ Rapid SQL proficiency (PostgreSQL/ MySQL/ SQL Server) for:
- Data validation
- Issue debugging
- Backend logic verification

- Authentication/SSO systems
- Enterprise-grade workflows
